We are delighted to welcome the Aberdeen International Youth Festival to the Lonach Hall in Strathdon again this year for one night only on Friday 6th August 2010.
Bifolk is a band of modern vigorous slavian-celtic folk-rock. The style of music is the result of a creative synthesis of different musical traditions of the Europe, including loose renditions of Belarusian, Russian, Ukrainian folk songs, and also even looser variations on medieval European music compositions and classic rock songs.
Owing to the stylish diversity of their music and their unique combination of traditional Belorussian & Celtic folk music with modern rhythms, elements of classic rock, with a good dose of reggae and blues, theymanage to captivate a varied audience representing all age groups.
The music of BIFOLK, in spite of being a combination of various genres, is well crafted and artistically unique. Their songs are full of imagery and have emotionally charged melodic patterns making poetic lyrics understandable to people from all walks of life.
The group is well known across Europe, appearing in many music festivals in Russia, La tvia, Poland and their native Belarus and are delighted to be coming to Scotland as part of the AberdeenInternational Youth Festival.
